Linda Henley-Smith

An author, educator, speaker and opera singer, Linda Henley-Smith provides an entertaining and educational outlook on working, living and surviving. She calls her company: “For the Good Times,” because she believes we all deserve to have good times in life.  Her business card reads, “For a good time...call Linda.” She figured it would bring in business!

Linda believes that laughter is a FUNdamental part of every organization’s plan for success. A “For the Good Times” program will ENERGIZE, EMPOWER and ENTERTAIN, while teaching you how to utilize humor and attitude adjustment to manage stress, motivate self and others, build self esteem, strengthen teamwork, and find a balance in life. Her books, “Adjust Your Attitude and Laugh ‘til the Cows Come Home” and “Here’s to the Ladies that Laugh” have provided chuckles to thousands, while “Humor Me...I’m a Teacher” has been used as a training manual for educators in many school districts.

Ms. Henley-Smith knows the importance of positive attitude and balance.  At one point, her world crashed in on her and she lost everything. Instead of choosing to lift herself out of the depths, she began to self medicate with pills and food.  She found a whole new meaning to the term “personal growth,” but not the right kind! In a year’s time, Linda put on 135 pounds and spiraled into even deeper depression. She lost everything and ended up sleeping on the floor of an abandoned house.

When Linda realized that she needed to focus on the possibilities of the future, instead of making excuses for the past, she began to find a healthy balance in the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of life. She turned her life around, built a business, wrote some books, lost 135 pounds and became committed to helping others achieve an attitude of altitude!

Linda has come to be known for her bag of toys, her musical instruments, her pig brief case and her smiles-on-sticks, among other things.  Her blend of humor, music and true-life stories inspire and motivate.  She holds a BA and MA in education and is a member of National Speakers Association.
